How To Get Started

Step 1.

Schedule a Conversation

Meet with a Home Comfort Advisor to:

  • Understand your cooling & heating requirement and determine the best application for your comfort.
  • Gather room dimensions, number/location of windows & doors, insulation R-values, & direction of sunlight to perform a load calculation.
  • Decide the capacity that meets your comfort and efficiency needs.
  • Identify installation locations for the indoor wall-mount, outdoor heat pump, and refrigerant lines.

Step 2.

Authorize Project by Submitting 50% Deposit

A proposal will be emailed to you with all the installation, parts, equipment, and pricing details. It will also show you the tax credits, incentives, and rebates you qualify for. We ask for a 50% deposit to approve and schedule the installation.

Step 3.

Schedule Install Date

Your Home Comfort Advisor will be the project manager for your installation. They will work with you to schedule a convenient date and coordinate with the electrician so that installation and start-up can happen as soon as possible.

Step 4.

Installation & Start-up

It generally takes about a full day to install the indoor & outdoor equipment for the ductless mini split system. That includes running the refrigerant line set and comm wiring from the outdoor heat pump to the indoor wall mount. Once the electrician makes the line voltage power connection, we can start-up and test the system.

Step 5.

Register Equipment & File for Tax Credits

We will register the equipment with Mitsubishi within 90-days and submit all documentation required to receive the 12-year parts/12-year compressor warranty. You or your tax advisor will need to file Form 5695, Residential Energy Credits Part II, with your tax return to claim the federal tax credit. You must claim the credit for the tax year when the property is installed, not merely purchased.
